About

So the "About Us" section of a website is traditionally where you find some boring, politically correct blurb about some lame mission statement or purpose from an equally lame and boring site administrator. This isn't that kind of "About Us", and this isn't that kind of site. We're anything but traditional. We're not even administrators- we own this @#%^$.

Rental University is more of a culmination of necessities than a website. Don't get us wrong, we have a website (you're on it in case you didn't notice), but what we're trying to say is that this arose from the need for honesty and fairness in Student Housing.

Look, we're students too. We understand how difficult it is to find the right place to live during college. We were sick and tired of the bull some realtors tried feeding us about how they "wanted a family" as their renters or how "they didn't want students because students party." Apparently every college student just stepped out of Animal House and into real life. And apparently age discrimination only protects those in their "golden years". $&%@ you, Fair Housing- you have no love for the next greatest generation.

Frustrated and running out of time was our usual status as our current leases were about to expire. Searching every available website and literally driving through neighborhoods for hours looking for "For Rent" signs was getting old fast. We thought that there had to be a better way. Out-of-date-posts, student-banning communities, and grafters looking to screw anyone with a checkbook were everywhere on the internet. No one had a quick or easy way to find reliable student-friendly housing. Sure, there are sites out there "dedicated" to students, but if you look under all the fake, you'll see that they're really out to make a buck and provide Realtors and Apartment Complexes with leads. That seems a little shady, especially when they only offer apartments. That "better way" didn't exist.

So what did we do? We started a company and built a website dedicated to creating a solution to all of these problems.

Rental University's goal isn't to sell you on anything. We don't even charge property owners or realtors to post their properties. Crazy right? Our goal is to provide you with the most complete and honest list of housing options available to you while you're at school, whether it be on or off campus. Dorms, Affiliated Apartments, Non-affiliated Apartments, Townhomes, Single Family Homes, we've got it all. And it's all student-friendly. If you're anything like us, (you may not be because we're pretty cool guys) you don't have time to search through countless sites or fake posts on public boards for a place that welcomes students

This site is pretty simple and very effective. You search based on either your school or location and we show you what's available. You can narrow your search by criteria such as price, bedroom/bathroom combinations, type of property, etc. We've got pretty pictures and a ton of information on each property so you can make the best, most educated decision on where to live.

We'll try our best to keep all the properties listed on our site current so that you don't call something that's already been rented and look like an idiot. You have enough problems as it is.

We're committed to making Rental University the "go to" site when it comes to student housing, but we need your help in spreading the word. Don't be shy to tell your friends or roommates about us. We wish that someone dropped us a hint when we were looking for a place to live.
